Children collect money at Monday’s Martin Luther King Junior Breakfast for those still suffering in Haiti.
While 2,000 U.S. Marines arrive off the coast of Haiti, relief organizations continue to try and help survivors. Congressman Zack Space says it’s not a burden we should carry alone.
"I think what’s important for us to do is work with the international community, not to shoulder all of it ourselves and work with the international community to work together to alleviate and potential misery on a path to prosperity," said Congressman Space.
And in this time of need Space encourages if you can’t donate funds, pray.
"I found myself doing that a lot in the last few days," explained Space. "It’s hard to imagine just how much suffering is going on right now."
The Pan American Health Organization estimates between 50,000-100,000 people died in Tuesday’s 7.0 magnitude quake.
