Friday at the 25th Anniversary Groundhog Day Auction two community members received awards for their service.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation presented the Dick Johnson Civic Leadership Award to local businessman Dick McClelland. The award is presented to a local business person who shows leadership in civic engagement, success in business and generosity in contributions to charities and non-profit organizations.

McClelland owns OK Coal, Eaglesticks Golf Course and has a standardbred horse business.

Also, receiving the Brian T. Wagner award tonight was Nan Nolder, for her work in the Tri-Valley community with children. She is president of the Dresden Elementary P.T.O, where she has helped quadruple the organizations financial resources. She also volunteers at the school weekly. The Wagner award is given to people who work with Muskingum County’s youth.

With her award Nolder can designate where the M.C.C.F will give a $1,000 donation. She chose the Animal Shelter and Genesis Healthcare Foundation.
