The United Way is just almost to their goal.
So far the campaign has raised $900,000 to make their goal they need just $50,000 more. The campaign will wrap up late winter and organizers are focused in raising the funds.
"We are very proud and honored that our community always steps up and is so generous."
The United Way helps fund fourteen non profit community services like the red cross and big brothers big sisters.
"Kellogg is one of our top donors. Their employees donated over 90,000 dollars toward the campaign and I also saw some great increases with Kroger in Perry and Morgan counties and also our local school systems really stepped up to the plate this year as well," United Way Chairperson Kelly Ashby said.
Ashby said Avon was a new partner for them this year and they are grateful for their employees and their donations. There are many way folks can still contribute. One of those ways is to go to Terry’s Tavern this Saturday. Ashby says it’s a fun way to get out and support the United Way.
