The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties is $50,000 short of its goal and now they are looking for help from businesses in the community.

Eagle Sticks is the first member of the South Zanesville Business Association to donate $50 to the United Way for their 50 for 50 campaign.

"We are asking 50 of our association, business members to donate $50 to the United Way to try to close the gap in the last $50,000 that they need to raise their goal in the $950,000 for the year," says Bridget Tetak, the banquet coordinator at Eagle Sticks.

All donations are tax deductible. The United Way says the 50 For 50 campaign is not limited to just the South Zanesville Business Association, it is open to any business in the three county area. All the money donated will be used in Muskingum, Morgan or Perry Counties.

"Well I think they do so many things for so many families and businesses, they contribute so much to our community, so I think it is really important we step up and try to help them reach their goals," tells Tetak.

The money will specifically be used to help the elderly get to appointments and for financial workshops for families. Flyers about the 50 For 50 campaign are being sent out to business or a business can send a $50 check to the United Way at the address below:
