Three people are taken to hospital after a two car accident.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 719 and Moxahala Avenue.
Zanesville Police Department Lieutenant Tony Courey says the driver of the truck 48-year-old Raymond Nicholson of Zanesville was traveling west on State Route 719 when he struck 73-year-old Sylvia Stutes and her husband of Duncan Falls.
They were traveling east on 719 and were attempting to turn left onto Moxahala Avenue. All three were taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. Courey says Stutes’ husband was taken from Good Samaritan to Grant Medical Center. Alcohol is a suspected to be involved, but it’s only one contributing factor. The accident remains under investigation.
While on the scene, Courey says another man was taken into custody on Moxahala Avenue after a road rage incident. He says they arrested 53-year-old Jeffrey Hocker of Zanesville on operating while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, criminal damaging and mis-conduct in an emergency. Hocker was also wanted on a felony warrant out of Belmont County for drug trafficking in a school zone and misdemeanor warrants of not paying child support in Muskingum County.
