The New Philadelphia Post of the State Highway Patrol is still investigating a crash that has left a Byesville woman dead.

It happened on Interstate 77 near mile post 76 on Monday.

Lieutenant Eric Escola says 57-year-old Josephine Rice went off the left side of the road, overcorrected into the right lane, and went off the left side of the road again before striking a guardrail. The force of the impact caused the car to overturn several times in the median.

Rice did die from injuries she sustained during the crash and has been transported to the Stark County Morgue.
