Today is a very special day for the Boy Scouts of America.

From now on Feb. 8 will be Boy Scouts of America Day in Zanesville. Mayor Howard Zwelling made the proclamation official this afternoon.

"When you look at these kids and you look at the adult leaders, and the program that has been here for 100 years, it’s just a tremendous organization," said 100th Anniversary Chairman Robert Curry.

The pack members are very excited to be able to celebrate Boy Scouts of America Day every year.

They said they look forward to participating in outdoor activities once the weather turns warmer.

"Probably the camping," said Tyler Tompkins of Pack 100.

"We have a whole lot of activities and stuff," said Logan Dinan, also of Pack 100.

The Boy Scouts of America is the second largest scouting organization in the world.
