City Plows Have Hard Time Accessing Streets

The snow is making roadways across the area very slick, and Zanesville City snowplows are busy trying to keep up with the white stuff.

"The Street Superintendent said at this point, we are no longer concerned with what snow was left from the last storm, we have to concentrate on what we’re getting and what the resulting wind factor may leave us, " says Public Service Director, Mike Sims.

And some residents are making things difficult for the snowplows.

"Our biggest problem is having the ability to even get the plow truck down the street, especially on streets that allow parking on both side, and if we can’t get the trucks with the plows through, there’s no way for us to remove the snow, " says Sims.

Sims is asking residents to park their cars off the roads to help give the snowplows easier access when clearing. He also says the snowplows are running into the problem of where to put all the snow.
