Snow Affecting Downtown Businesses

The snow is even affecting business in downtown Zanesville.

Ditty’s Downtown Deli is located on Fourth Street, and Owner, DJ Dittmar, says it’s been a struggle these past couple of weeks with sales being cut in half.

"It has been slow of course. Everything’s been disrupted when the kids don’t go to school, and people have to find places for their children while they go to work. It’s kind of difficult for everyone, but a lot of places downtown are still moving along, " says Dittmar.

He says there’s been a lot of shoveling too to keep people coming through his doors.

"It’s been an ongoing, everyday sort of challenge, but I wish everyone would clean their sidewalks off so customers for us can get to us a little bit easier because a lot of them walk through the streets to get down here, " says Dittmar.

Dittmar says the street department has done a good job too of keeping the roads clear. He says he understands that the main roads are a first priority, but he knows the plows will eventually make their way down his street.
