Snow Hinders Firefighters in Madison Twp.

There was a fire in Perry County Thursday around 5 p.m.

The Newton Township Fire Department was called to an attic fire at 10016 Township Road 57 in Madison Township.

Chief Allen Deaver says the fire was contained to the attic and is believed to be electrical.

He says the most difficult part about fighting the blaze was that the home was at the end of a long driveway, which wasn’t snow plowed. A fire truck could not reach the household, so they were forced to use their brush truck.

Deaver wants to remind everyone to clear their driveways of snow in case of emergency.
