ZCS Calamity Days

by Katie Jeffries on February 5, 2010

It is not often a school district cancels school before a single snowflake hits the ground.

But Zanesville City Schools Superintendent, Terry Martin, says when there is a significant amount of snow on its way, sometimes it is necessary. The school does not have an early dismissal policy and Martin says he did not want the parents or school busses to get stuck in the snow Friday afternoon. Zanesville City Schools still has three calamity days left to use. Martin says typically in past years they have used more calamity days by this date.
