A Zanesville woman is sent to Good Samaritan Hospital after a two car accident.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Pine and Chester Streets.
Zanesville Police Department’s Lieutenant Tony Coury says 26-year-old Shana Wade was traveling southeast on Pine Street when she went left of center and struck 23-year-old Shawnda Rine. He says Wade was on her cell phone at the time of the crash.
She did sustain minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Coury says Rine and her two-passengers, three-year-old Cyrus Melick and one-year-old Dax Melick were fine. The two young boys were restrained in child safety seats.
Coury says alcohol was initially a suspected factor in the crash but no drugs or alcohol turned up in Wade’s system after testing. She will be cited with going left of center.
