Drowning in Coshocton County

A 78-year old man is pronounced dead after falling into a creek in Coshocton County.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 10:40 Tuesday morning from Mildred Nesmith requesting an emergency squad for her husband.

Mildred told the sheriff’s office her husband had left the house about one hour earlier, and when he didn’t return, she began looking for him. According to the sheriff’s office, James Nesmith was found unconscious partially in the water.

Rescue personnel were able to pull him from the water and start CPR at the scene.

He was transported to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
