Some Maysville students will be part of a national campaign connecting one million minds across the United States.

Time Warner Cable is kicking off their Connecting One Million Minds Program to promote learning today at their Zanesville call center.

"Science, technology, engineering and math are so important going into the twenty-first century and kids need those skills," said Manager of Community Partnerships Elizabeth Boyuk. "Eighty-four percent of kids would rather take out the garbage, clean their room or go to the dentist than learn science or math. We’re trying to encourage the problem solvers of tomorrow."

Boyuk said the curriculum is designed for middle schoolers and focuses on the science of cable.

Time Warner has made a five-year committment and will host the program once every year.
