Changes are coming to the Muskingum County Library System.
The library will be modifying their hours to better fit the needs of the community. Public Information Officer Blair Tom said the library took a survey and analyzed data showing the activity of each branch.
"One thing we kept hearing, especially the 18 – 49 year old demographic needed more early evening, evening and late evening hours," said Tom. "So as a result, we are adjusting our hours effective April 4."
The changes will affect branches as well as the main one at John McIntire.
"John McIntire Library will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.pm. Friday and Saturday," he said. "This extends the extends the evening hours for working families, students and it a step toward our goal of being more convenient for people to use the library."
Tom hopes the changes in hours will better accommodate the community.
The next step for the library will be adding more technology and early education literacy.
