The annual Guernsey County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner had a special guest Wednesday night.

Republican gubernatorial candidate, John Kasich, stopped by the Prichard Laughlin Civic Center in Cambridge to host his own fundraiser and attend the Lincoln Day Dinner. Kasich says he believes the current government has been mismanaged and wants to see the budget cleaned up.

"Our whole strategy is to make sure families get their monies worth and as families get their monies worth, we can see a smaller government and reduce taxes to create an environment in the state where jobs want to come," says Kasich.

Kasich says his highest priority is creating jobs and making Ohio a business friendly state. With unemployment high in Guernsey and Muskingum Counties, Kasich says he wants to bring down the barriers against small businesses and have Ohio take a look at its assets.

"I’m going to send a group of CEOs out around the state who are going to hear about what they think the game plan ought to be," tells Kasich.

Around three hundred people attended the Lincoln Day Dinner. All the donations taken from the dinner will be used by Guernsey County republican candidates.
