Students Prepare for Red Day

Area students are banding together to show their support for the Red Cross.

Students are selling Red Day t-shirts across Muskingum County to support the organization.

"This is the Second Annual Red Day for the Red Cross," said Rosecrans Senior Olivia Durant, who is organizing the sale. "We did it last year and we raised a little over $1,700 and all that money went directly to our local chapter."

On March 26 the group is asking those who buy t-shirts to wear them and for those who don’t to wear red in support of the Red Cross.

Durant said she’s happy to be working to support the effort.

"It was really awesome contribution we were able to make," she said. "It was really great because we got to incorporate a lot of the local schools and students, so it was a great youth effort."
