Donating your gently used clothing can garner you some big savings.

Saturday is the first "Stuff The Truck" event for the Elder Beerman located in the Colony Square Mall. The goal is to have customers fill a Goodwill truck with clean, gently used clothing and household textiles. Store manager at Elder Beerman, Annie Wolfer, says Goodwill is thrilled for the event.

"They are very excited, it has been such a wonderful experience to have so many people donate to Elder Beerman so we can give it to Goodwill and it helps so many people," says Wolfer.

Residents who donate items receive a 20% off coupon for new items in Elder Beerman. Elder Beerman and Goodwill have been teaming up for the "Goodwill Sale" since 1994. In that time Elder Beerman has donated nearly 40 million items to goodwill. Wolfer says even though times are tough, the amount of donations they receive are increasing.

"Because they know it is so important to other people that they help out and this is one way they can do that and treat themselves to something new," tells Wolfer.

The event runs Saturday from 11a.m. until 5 p.m.  You can donate your gently used clothing to Elder Beerman or Goodwill until March 24th to receive your coupon.
