A train struck a car just after 5:00 p.m. at Terry’s Tavern in Zanesville.
Sgt. Chris Phipps with the Zanesville Police Department says a train clipped a parked Jeep Cherokee which pushed the Cherokee into a Honda.
"People park here all the time and he (train engineer) probably just came through, of course, even if he did see it, these things (trains) don’t stop on a dime. You can’t really stop very quickly," says Sgt. Phipps.
No one was injured in the collision. Phipps says the cars are damaged, but appear driveable. Phipps says he does not believe any charges will be filed.
Police say Linden Avenue and State Street were closed as crews work to clear the scene.
