A Perry County man is in the hospital after being shot in his own home.
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says a man was shot in this home at 301 West Main Street in Somerset around 2:20 a.m. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Somerset Police are still investigating the shooting, but friends of the victim say they might have an idea of what happened.
"We heard Chris had been shot by an intruder and we just found out this morning and we have been texting with the wife, Erin, to see if he is ok and what all happened," says Brad Felton a family friend.
Law enforcement says the victim was transported to Fairfield Medical Center and then flown to a Columbus hospital. He is said to be in stable condition. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Somerset Police, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, Crooksville Police Department, New Lexington Police Department and Ohio Highway Patrol all responded to the shooting.
