You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream For Snow Ice Cream!

Spring appears to be right around the corner, So before the snow melts scoop up some fresh snow to make snow ice cream.

Snow ice cream is a traditon for many families, but how safe is snow to eat?

"It seems like it is very safe, an extensive internet search and speaking to physicians, basically if the snow is clean and new it is probably ok, and if it is not, It is probably not ok," tells Dave Davis, Director of Emergency Services at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital.

Davis says snow that has been sitting out for a while is probably not safe for use. But if there is untouched and pristine snow in your yard it is safe to eat.

"If it doesn’t have stuff on it it is probably alright there is absolutely no literature that I could find that cites anyone getting sick from eating snow unless the snow had bad things on it," says Davis.

To make snow ice cream, just follow the simple reciepe below:

Ingredients: 8 Cups of snow
                      14 oz of condensed milk
                      1 Tsp of vanilla extract

Place snow into a large bowl. Pour condensed milk over and add vanilla. Mix to combine. Serve immediately and enjoy!
