A couple that sparked a state wide Amber Alert is headed to jail.
33-year-old Jeremy Ryan and 30-year-old Kristina Ryan appeared in Zanesville Municipal Court Friday, each facing a charge of interference with custody.
Last Friday the Ryans, who do not have custody of their 14-month-old son Zechariah, sparked an Amber Alert when they took the boy from a home on Sevall Street in Zanesville. Authorities were concerned for the child’s safety, because they said the two were known drug users and the mother was a threat to the child. The couple and child were found later that night in the parking lot of Canal Winchester High School in Fairfield County.
Friday in court Jeremy Ryan pled guilty and Judge Bill Joseph sentenced him to 90 days in jail with 45 suspended. Kristina Ryan pled no contest and was found guilty. Judge Joseph sentenced her to 180 days in jail, with 90 days suspended. Both also have to pay a $300 fine and court costs.
