All the bids are in and the numbers have been tallied.

The 24th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction brought in $138,005.

"We’re about $2,000 less than we did last year," said Guest Auctioneer Ron Bucci. "We would have been tickled to death if we did $120,000. This community loves the cake auction. They love the Carr Center and what it does for the community."

According to Bucci, the Carr Center will be able to continue the good works they provide for the community.

"They take care of the less fortunate, they take care of the children with disabilities, they take care of the adults with disabilities," he said. "We’re thrilled to be a part of it. The bidders, the buyers, bakers, the volunteers. It’s a group effort."

Bucci said after a good rest, the cake auction committee will start preparing for the 25th auction in 2011. At next year’s they will bring the combined earnings from all 25 years to more than $3.5 million.
