Cub Scouts in Duncan Falls are cooking up something sweet to eat.
Fathers and their Cub Scouts of Pack 137 were slaving away in the kitchen to create a tasty and creative cake for the annual Father and Son Cake Bake. Creating these crafty cakes is no easy task.
"Well I would say probably six hours or better by the time you bake the cake and you have to let it cool and icing it and everything on the cake has to be edible, no matter anything on the cake has to be edible," says Sam Sudduth, Cub Master for Pack 137.
And mom is not allowed to help. Sudduth says mothers can oversee the cake baking, but it is up to the boys and their dads to come up with their own themes.
"It is more comradery and father and son time and it teaches the boy, because when we are done they have to clean up their own mess. Mom is not allowed to do that either," says Sudduth.
Awards were given out for judges choice, most colorful, best scout theme, most original and yummiest looking. Once the judging was over, the Cub Scouts and their families got to have their cake and eat it too!
