Are you aware of your surroundings?

"Earth Day on the Muskingum" wants to get people more in touch with the environment and the area’s resources. Event coordinator, Cristina Fowler-Geis, says the best way to start is by coming out to Zane Landing Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday.

"Taking part, being civic minded, and helping beautify our area is a really great way to get started. Taking pride in our community, and we need to take back what I think we’ve lost, " says Fowler-Geis.

Fowler-Geis says what we do now can directly impact the future.

"The short term future, it’s going to be nicer. Those people who clean up are going to start thinking how they can clean up in other ways. Other more lasting effects could be from getting people here and learning about how little steps make a big difference, " says Fowler-Geis.

There will be different activities for people of all ages, including clean-up efforts, recylcing, arts and crafts, and environmental demonstrations.
