Perry County is highlighting some of its local artists.

40 vendors took part in the first Perry County Art Walk. There was something for everyone to enjoy, including photography, music, and artwork. Celebrity Chef Susie Cork of Lancaster attended and made a gourmet meal using local meat and produce. It was also the official kick-off of the Farmer’s Market.

"We have a lot of beautiful things in Southeastern Ohio and in Perry County. You don’t always have to go to the coast or travel to another state to see some really unique and interesting things, " says Somerset Mayor, Tom Johnson.

Hundreds of people gathered around the Somerset Town Square for the event. Vendors even utilized the old Courthouse by showing off their work inside. Johnson says because the event was so well-received, he expects it to become a yearly tradition.
