More than a thousand parents and children descended on Riverside Park Saturday morning for a massive Easter egg hunt.

With baskets in hand, children went after the 12,000 eggs stashed throughout the park. Fifty of the eggs had a ticket for a new bike, gas grill or free meals at Bob Evans and eggs were not the only thing kids were hunting for.

"Candy is in the eggs!" says Scarlett Toombs

"In addition to the eggs we have over 30,000 pieces of candy that will just be scattered throughout the field for the kids to find," says Danny Harp the Associate Minister at North Terrace Church of Christ.

The Easter egg hunt is put on by the North Terrace Church of Christ. Many parents say the best part of Easter is seeing their children so excited.

"Just watching all the kids have fun and hunting eggs and just having a good time and getting prizes and seeing a whole bunch of people around," says Kimberley Darner as she got ready for the Easter egg hunt with her sons.

"The kids enjoying themselves, watching them have fun. It is mostly about the kids," says Joshua Martinez as he lined up for the Easter egg hunt with his daughters.

This is the first time North Terrace has had the Easter egg hunt at the park and organizers say they are very pleased with the turnout.
