A Newark man accused of taking part in a fatal stabbing last August is found competent to stand trial.

According to court documents, a hearing took place in Licking County Common Pleas Court on Thursday where a ruling was made that 46-year-old William Withem is competent to stand trial.

Withem is charged with aggravated murder, murder and aggravated burglary in connection with the death of John Stouffer.

The 25-year-old Stouffer was found stabbed to death at a home on West Jefferson Street in Newark on August 24th.

Four other co-defendants in the case have already gone to trial and have received sentences that range between 18 and 25 years to life in prison.
