The president of the Coshocton County React group is speaking out about the arrest of one of his members at an airport where President Barack Obama was departing. Joseph Sean McVey was arrested at Asheville, North Carolina Airport Sunday. Police say he was armed and had a police siren and flashing lights. React president Tim Wise says he is totally shocked that McVey had a gun. Wise says McVey has been a member of his organization for about two years. React assists authorities at fire and accident scenes by helping direct traffic. Wise say McVey was “kind of a loner and had to be reprimanded for excessive speed responding to the scene of an accident. But he would not hurt anyone and is probably scared by all the attention he is getting.” McVey has not been active with the local React group since he has been working in Athens County the past six months, but when he does come back to Coshocton he lives with his grandmother. McVey has been charged with going armed in terror of the public, a misdemeanor.
