Generations of students are coming together to honor Zanesville High School before it is demolished this summer.
The "Final Farewell" event will be held May 22nd from noon to six p.m.
56-graduating classes have walked these halls and each one will be represented.
"All the classes have gotten together and provided memorabilia, photos albums, pictures, photos, programs, old uniforms, even shoes, and class rings, " says event committee chairman, Wayne Carpenter.
Carpenter says the main reason for the get-together is to relive memories and to recognize the history of the building.
The event committee even hopes to open a time capsule of the event that is more than 50-years-old. They have an idea of where to find it but aren’t 100 percent sure. So, they are asking for the public’s help.
"It has to be somebody back in the early 50’s that were here. The time capsule was put together back in 1952 and supposedly buried near the school, " says Carpenter.
If you know where the capsule is buried, you are asked to call Zanesville High School at 740-453-0335.
