A new business in Zanesville is helping to keep the area technologically savvy.
SOTA, which stands for State Of The Art, held its grand opening for the Zanesville location Thursday. The company was founded in Coshocton in 1985, has a branch office in Columbus and felt it was time to expand to Zanesville.
"We have had a customer base here in Zanesville for years. We have done Internet service here for years, we have had some sales and service customers and some IT solutions customers in the area and it was just really past due time to open a location," says Jeff Schmidt, SOTA President.
Mayor Howard Zwelling says he believes the local economy is turning around. This is the seventh ribbon cutting Mayor Zwelling has attended in just three months.
"That means seven people have taken the major steps and made major investments in the Zanesville economy and three or four others have done so and have not had ribbon cuttings, so there is a lot going on in Zanesville that we are happy about," says Mayor Howard Zwelling.
Mayor Zwelling says having computer and technology specialists in Zanesville is helpful as the city works to bring more companies to the area. SOTA technologies is located at 535 Main Street in downtown Zanesville.
