She may be 91-years-old, but Frances Moore’s age isn’t stopping her from volunteering in our community.
The YMCA is recognizing Moore and eight other individuals at its "Women of Achievement" banquet this Wednesday. Moore is the recipient of the Lifetime Service Award.
"It’s a real honor. It means a lot to me because I never expected to be honored for the work I was doing, " says Moore.
Moore worked as a grade school teacher and upon retiring was offered a job as supervisor at the Helen Percell Home. She has also been involved with Christian education at her church. She says volunteering is an important part of bringing a community together.
"To me, this means a lot. If you can do something to help someone else and maybe make the world a little better, " says Moore.
The banquet will be held at Ohio University-Zanesville/Zane State Campus Center. Moore says she is looking for to sharing this night with friends.
