Around two hundred people gathered Thursday evening on the Muskingum County Courthouse steps.

The Tea Party Rally featured speakers who spoke about everything from taxes to healthcare to legislation in the works. Last year’s rally had around 600 people and organizer, Kay Clymer, says she is disappointed in the turnout.

"Where are the business people because this is going to effect them, the taxes, the healthcare the regulations, where are they? Why are they not up in arms and wanting to commit to making a stance?" says Clymer.

Clymer says the main goal of the Tea Party Rally is education and telling elected officials what is important to the public. She says she wants everyone’s voice to by going to the polls and voting.

"If you don’t go to the polls you don’t understand what is happening in this country. You don’t understand that is what people fought for so you would have that right to go and say ‘this is what I want and this is what I don’t want’," tells Clymer.

Clymer says she especially appreciated seeing young people take an interest at the rally today. She says the Zanesville Patriots will continue their fight until those in Congress are out and people are put in who will take the country to its Constitutional heritage.
