Alcohol May Be Factor in Coshocton County Crash

by Emily Baird on May 9, 2010

A 17-year-old is in serious condition after an accident along State Route 93 early this morning.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call around 1:15 a.m. of a one vehicle accident in Lafayette Township on a bridge over the Tuscarawas River, but no one appeared to be in the car. Upon arrival, deputies say they found Dakota Wright on the ground near the river bank.

They say it appears Wright was traveling north when he went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. He then served off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, and overturned.

Wright was taken by MedFlight to Akron General Hospital.

The sheriff’s office says alcohol may be a factor in the crash. It remains under investigation.
