Celebrate National Tourism Week and Explore Muskingum County

National Tourism Week starts May 9th and it focuses on local tourist attractions and emphasizes that people in the community can enjoy entertainment right here in Muskingum County. Vice President of the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby says it’s time to get to know our area.

"It’s time to explore your own back yard and get out there and take advantage of National Tourism Week. There are $2.00 off admission at the National Roads and Grand Museum and also the John Annie Glen historical site and also $7.00 off your tickets to The Wilds."

Ashby said take advantage of the savings next week.Travel and tourism is one of the largest industries in the area.

"Tourism here in Muskingum County is a huge industry over 4,000 people are employed in the tourism industry and $174,000,000  impact on our economy with tourism alone," Ashby said.

Ashby said there are just so many fun and inexpensive things to do like going to state parks and it’s just exciting to get out and explore what’s in our own county.
