Celebrating Mother’s Day

For most, Mother’s Day is showing how much your mom means to you, and the local mom’s were spoke with this afternoon say they were showered with love. It’s a special day they say holds a special place in their hearts.

"It means family, friends, and having all of our family together, " says local mom Faye McNeish.

"I have three children and three grandchildren. I think that’s the main part of being a mother. The greatest gift that god has given us is our children and our grandchildren, " says local mom Sandy Hittle.

"Just have four wonderful children, and I love sharing this day with them, " says local mom Kaye Bradley.

Some mom’s were glowing with the gifts their children got them.

"Not only their love, but a flower here and there, which I love. Hot pink petunias are my favorite, " says Hittle.

Mother’s Day typically takes place on the second Sunday in May. It’s a tradition that dates back centuries ago and was first recognized by the Egyptians.
