Election Day Slow

Election Day Slow

With the results in and the election over, the 85 precincts in Muskingum County say it was a slow day overall, but poll workers also say that is typical for a May Primary.

"The general procedure is in the mornings, we get mostly older folks. Then as the day wears on, people that are working come in the late afternoon and evening, " says poll worker Floyd Felumlee.

Voter Josh Sprague says he was surprised by how low turnout was. He says he came out to vote for two specific reasons.

"Being a Columbus Blue Jackets fan, I was hoping they’d keep the casino in the arena district. So, that was one thing I was interested in. I also have met and had a few good encounters with Zack Space, so I wanted to see that I voted for him and get him in there. Hopefully, he’ll be re-elected in November, " says Sprague.

The polls officially closed at 7:30 p.m.
