If you’re looking for a way to spend your Memorial Day weekend, you can head down to Zane Landing Park this Saturday for the Jaycees Memorial Weekend Fest and Poker Run.
The day starts off with a poker run. Registration begins at 10am and the bikes take off at 11am and travel to New Lexington, Lancaster, Jack Town Pub, and then back to Zanesville. President of the Zanesville Jaycees, David Mortimer, says they’re looking forward to a good turnout.
"This is only the second year that we’ve done this event. We actually did it back in 2007 and had about 100 bikers show up so it was pretty successful so we’ve taken the last few years to try and improve on things and we think this year will be better," says Mortimer.
The cost for double riders is $25, and $15 for single riders. There will also be live entertainment at the park that begins at 4:30pm.
"That’s open to anyone in the community, there’s no cost for it. You can come on down and enjoy a nice evening at the Zane Landing Park," says Jaycees Vice President Ben Whitacre.
There will be food and beverages available to purchase. The funds raised at the event will go toward providing scholarships for graduating seniors.
