The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is asking Perry County citizens for their input on a landfill expansion in New Lexington.
It received a request from Tunnel Hill Partners to add 69 acres to the property, located at 2500 Township Road 205. It already occupies close to 550 acres. The company is also asking to receive more air space and to increase the maximum daily waste receipt to around eight thousand tons. That increase would enable the landfill to fill up in about 12 years.
The Ohio EPA is holding an information session on the matter Thursday, June 3rd at the New Lexington Community Center. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and is open to questions and responses from the public.
