Ohio State Parks are ready to open nine of the 10 locks located along the Muskingum River.
Lock nine in Philo will remain closed for construction purposes. These historic locks were made in the 1840’s and continue to be operated by hand cranking.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources recognizes these pieces as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. Operators work out of the Dillion State Park Region office.
