Placing Flags Provide a Tribute

Wandering through Greenwood Cemetery this morning, Troop 158 placed flags on veterans’ graves.

"I’m here to honor the veterans and those who have fallen for our country," says 15-year-old life scout Austin Wheeler.

Respect and community service is an important part of being a Boy Scout. Veteran Jeffory Dittmar met the boys to provide guidance throughout the day.

"As I told these young men earlier in just a little talk that we had to let them know what we were doing it’s not that we have to be out here, it’s that we want to be out here," says Dittmar.

There will be a Memorial Day service on Monday at Greenwood Cemetery starting at 11am.
