A former Zanesville man is indicted Wednesday on three counts of rape.

51-year old William Dilts–now of Roseville–was indicted by a Muskingum County Grand Jury.

"These incidents involved three juvenile girls between the ages of 9 and ten," said Detective Sargeant Ric Roush of the Zanesville Police Department. "Diltz currently resides in Roseville, but at the time that this occurred, which was between the summer of 2007 and the summer of 2009, it occurred at his residence here in Zanesville."

For confidentiality purposes, the Zanesville Police Department is not releasing the nature of the relationship between Dilts and the juveniles. Roush says ZPD worked together with children’s services on the case.

"We were made aware of the situation by children’s services who had gained information as to what had happened," he said. "They in turn relayed their information to us. A joint investigation was then conducted. "

Dilts will be arrainged in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court next week. He’s being held in the Zanesville City Jail.
