City and State officials are preparing for Phase Two of the State Route 60 Safety Project.
Thursday there was a public meeting held at Secrest Auditorium for area people to ask questions and give their input on the upcoming changes.
"There’s different ways to fix problems and we have our ideas, but they need to mesh with what the public’s ideas are as well," says Chip Saunders, Zanesville City Engineer.
Phase Two will converge Brown Street, Dresden Road and Maple Avenue into one intersection. A second project will connect Bethesda Drive and Balls Lane for a more direct route from Bethesda Hospital to the Genesis HealthPlex and Walmart shopping plaza.
"Maple Avenue the corridor itself is just one of the worst corridors in the state and we feel that these improvements will help both the access and the safety and get us off number one on that list," he says.
