Another local group is doing what they can to help the Operation Feed campaign.

The seniors from the Sunrise Senior Center are pitching to support the effort.

"These stamps help represent our theme this year of "Giving Hunger the Boot in 2010," said Operation Feed Campaign Chairperson Carol Morgan. "The seniors here have done all this. We had square dance in march and this is part of that. We have raised more than $2,600 including these stamps."

Each paper hanging in the building represents their donations.

Morgan said the seniors realize just how important Operation Feed is to the community.

"Their children have lost their jobs and that affects their children and grandchildren," said Morgan. "Obviously they’re going to feel the pinch of it. They just like helping. They’re very excited about doing things. When we brought it on, they were eager to help and I think they’re awesome."

The Operation Feed campaign will continue with other various fundraisers, such as a cruise-in on June 23 at the White Pillars Antique Complex.
