The YMCA is kicking off its 12 week Summer Camp next Tuesday.

It’s open to those going into kindergarten next year through 8th grade.

"A lot of folks are looking for, especially parents, a place for their kids to go, and two questions we get are: Are they safe and will they have fun? They answer is yes to both of these, " says Executive Director, Craig Miracle.

Miracle says the kids will continue to be active throughout the summer with all the planned activities, but the camp will focus on education.

"We do a lot of reading. They get involved at the OU-Z library. The library brings over activities and gets them on the computer. So, we keep them engaged academically, " says Miracle.

The kids will get to take part in field trips as well.

If you’re interested in registering your child for the camp, contact the YMCA at 740-453-9622.
