Zanesville Rotary Honors Students

The Zanesville Rotary Club is honoring six local high school seniors with a Phoenix Award.

These awards will provide the students with a one thousand dollar scholarship.

"it means i’m going to have the opportunity to attend college . Financial needs are a big deal in my family, so the support really helps me and having the support of the community and these foundations really means a lot to me, " says honoree Ebonie Howard.

The six students picked managed to excel in school, despite personal adversity.

"We hope to help instill some confidence in them, that somebody is paying attention to what they’ve achieved and will inspire them to keep that level of work ethic and success in life, " says Zanesville Rotary Club President, Mike Snode.

Five other students were also honored including, Jessica Moyer of Tri-Valley, Jessica Smith of Philo, Matt Westcott from Maysville, Tia Nicholson from John Glenn, and Michael Antill of Bishop Rosecrans.

The event was held at Bryan’s Place in downtown Zanesville.
