The Zanesville Senior Class of 2010 will not just be remembered for their amazing accomplishments in academics, extra-curricular activities, and sports.

They are the last class to graduate from the old high school, which added a special touch to tonight’s commencement ceremony.

"It’s really a great thing. It’s memorable. We’ll always be able to come back and think we were the last class to graduate from this school, " says graduate Emily Ray.

"We were the last ones out of old Grover too. So, that’s pretty cool, " says graduate Kuwan Mayle.

"I can tell my grandkids when they go to the new high school that I went to the old high school. I have pieces of that school. I’m going to get a brick when it’s knocked down, " says gradaute Rachel Oakley.

It’s a night most students won’t soon forget.

"I’ve waited my whole life for this day, and I never thought it would come. It’s finally here. I’m actually kind of sad about it, " says Oakley.

"It feels great. Get to end your high school years and start your life, " says Mayle.

"It feels exciting. I never thought I was going to make it to this point. It felt like an eternity. I just can’t wait for it to get over tonight, " says Ray.

The students say they will miss the memories and the friends they made here, but they all have bright futures ahead of them. Mayle is leaving for the Army. Ray received her license in cosmotology and is looking for a job at a solon, and Oakley will be attending Ohio State Unversity-Newark for forensics.
