Arrests are made after the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office conducts multiple drug busts in Zanesville.
The first happened around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at 206 Mead Street.
"We took approximately three people into custody from the search warrant itself. We did make two other arrests on the street after the search warrant." says Sheriff Matt Lutz.
Sheriff Lutz says three children were in the home and children’s services placed them with relatives. While that search warrant was unfolding there were traffic stops at the intersection Pine and Bexley Streets, which led investigators to a home on Pine Street.
"Through that investigation, led us back to here to 358 Pine Street, where we’re securing this residence on a consent search. We got consent to search this house and it’s it’s part of an investigation we we’re doing," he says.
The Sheriff says they cannot release names of those arrested or what was found in the searches, but he says he does foresee criminal charges. He says they were aided in the searches by K-9’s in town for training.
