The Red Cross will be hitting the town Saturday night and raising money at a local hot spot.

Terry’s Tavern is hosting a party that will allow the organization to help local families in the future.

"All the proceeds from half and half tickets and some other things and we’re also going to have a door prize there will go toward our disaster relief fund," Marlene Henderson Director of Readiness and Development at the Muskingum Valley Red Cross said.

Families are in need of assistance, especially when they’ve lost their home to a natural disaster.

"We provide them with food clothing and shelter that’s what our Disaster Relief Fund is and this time of year we never know with storms coming through, flooding, we also always help people who have had huge property damage or flooding," Henderson said.

Henderson said they always need to be prepared in case something happens. She said come on down to Terry’s Saturday. They will be there from 6pm to 12am. You can also make a donation to the Disaster Relief Fund by mailing a check to the Red Cross’s Chapter House at 22 South Seventh Street.
