For some local organizations, Gus Macker is a prime time to raise money.

Many organizations take advantage of the thousands of people that gather at the event to raise money to better the community.

"Our main purpose for the fundraiser is we have, is to help clothe needy children here in Zanesville and Muskingum County, and we operate the snow cone booth here at Gus Macker," says Todd Bickle with the Zanesville Newsies.

Christ’s Table shook up some lemonade at Gus Macker, and they say it helps them in their mission to provide warm meals for community.

"The last couple of years our revenues have continued to go down so we’ve had to find other ways to help feed the homeless in the community," says Don Riley of Christ’s Table.

Both stands say they had a steady flow of traffic.
